Day 120 - Sidewalk Chalk - GONE!

Well, that did not take long at all. It does amaze me what people are willing to drive for and pick-up. But, I am sure some kid will be tickled to have new chalk!

Today I am offering 2 new boxes of sidewalk chalk. My girls use this stuff all the time, but we have more than enough to get us through the summer and I just don't want to store it long-term. And, I am sure we'll be given lots more of it over the next few months!!

Seems like I just get closer and closer to giving everything of my old dogs away. Today I am giving away her prong collar. She'd be happy to have it out of her house (not that she ever lived in this house - she was gone before we moved here). But, she would probably be sad some other dog has to wear a prong collar! She did have many fun collars to hold her tags - flags, celtic paterns, bones, etc. She was spoiled!

I am not surprised to say these did not go. Who would want to store them for 11 months! Dave was surprised...

Today I am offering 2 super cute Easter baskets. The girls got these this year and we just have too much to keep them around for next year. One is pink like a bunny head and the other is yellow - a duck head.

The big question is will someone want these this far from Easter - you've got to wait like 11 months to use them!! We'll see!!

Not a surprise, but the guitar has been promised and picked up. I had many responses for it which does not surprise me. Seems like people are more willing to make the drive for a kids item - kind of sweet!

This weekend has been a blur! Dave and I worked a retreat pretty much the whole time and we're exhausted. I just sent him to the basement to come up with a freecycling item. On the way down he suggested the dog! Wouldn't that be nice!! Erin would not be happy!

Anyhoo... Today I am freecycling a box of privacy window film. If you look at the window from outside you won't be able to see in, but from the inside you can still see out. This was one of my feeble attempts to darken my girls room. It did not work well - but is a good product nonetheless.

Today I am offering a Linksys Wireless Adapter. Same as the one before - just another extra. We needed these in our old house but for some reason don't now. Perhaps that is because we use a different provider? I don't know. But, this needs a new home.

Day 114 - Dog Crate - GONE!

Yeah - a big item is gone!!!! It went to a super nice woman how volunteers for an animal shelter and has a few dogs - she is also going to be a trainer. So, I am sure it will get plenty of use from her or someone she passes it on to!

Today I am offering our dogs crate. Too bad I can't include the dog!!! That would be great - just kidding. We got this crate about 7 or so years ago when we adopted our first dog (Harley) from the CARE shelter in Evanston. Good cage, GREAT dog! She is in dog heaven and our new dog (Buddy) does not need it. But, I am sure someone will get a lot of use from it!

Day 113 - Alarm Clock

Today I am offering a super basic alarm clock. It plugs in the wall and has a snooze!!! Now, that's fancy! But, it would be great for someones desk at work or someone who just needs the basic alarm clock!

This reminds me - we gave away an alarm clock about a week ago because it was keeping us up at night - too bright. Well, we got a new Sony clock and it is much dimmer and does not keep us up at night! Unfortunately sleep is still not perfect, but a little better. If only there was an "automatic coverer" for 3 ear old kids who lose their covers in the middle of the night and yell for mom and dad. I'd never freecycle that!

Well, they are not gone yet, but are promised. I got a few responses on these games. Maybe because Harry Potter is such a big deal. I am just happy they will have found a new home. I think I might be done with XBox games!

I was so lucky to get home and have a gift from one of my "takers". She picked up a book on CD and left me a donation toward my Breast Cancer Walk! I was stunned at her generosity!! I am $10 closer to my goal! THANKS!!!

Day 111 - Book - Jesus, CEO

Today I am struggling with what to give away. Dave and I are talking about it and neither of us is into it. 10:37 is too late to start working on this!!!

So, today we'll be freecycling the book, Jesus CEO by Laurie Beth Jones. I am certain you won't be surprised this was another gift from Dave's mom! She better never read my blogs!! Or I am dead.

This was a recent gift to Dave - I think maybe this past Christmas. He has not touched it and I am sure will never take the time to read it. That being said, my MIL says it is a great book!

Day 110 - Magazines

Today I am offering an assortment of magazines. Titles include Self, Parenting, Better Homes & Gardens and others. Since my dad was in the magazine business, I just love reading them - grew up reading lots of magazines. And, I can't ever throw them away. If they don't go I will donate them to a woman's jail or something like that.

I picked up a bag of cookbooks from another freecycler a few months ago and have just never gotten to them. I already have so many! So, they need to find a new home!!

A nice woman will be picking these up for her babysitter who runs an in-home daycare. I am sure they'll get a lot of use!! So glad they will come in handy for her.

Day 100 - CD - Now You're Speaking My Language

Today I am offering the CD - Now You're Speaking My Language by Gary Chapman. I have not listened to this CD - but have read the book - I found it to be excellent! I did burn the CD, so I've got it if I need it.

The book discusses the different ways you can demonstrate and receive love. It shows that you might be loving someone in a way that is not the language they prefer or best accept. Very interesting!!

Anyhoo... I am sure this will go!

Day 99 - X Box Game

Oh boy, I am 99 days into this adventure. That means only 257 days left - that makes it seem like a really long time!!

Today I am offering another XBox game - Ghost Recon. This is another game from my mother-in-law to my husband that he has never played. As much as he enjoys video games, he has never been into violent games. But, hopefully someone will have fun with it!

This whole freecycling thing is getting to be a hassle. I am not nearly organized enough which brings me to 10:22 and nothing to get rid of. What a bother. I really need to organize myself or this won't last! I need inspiration.

I sent Dave to the basement (i.e., Hell) and he brought up today's item... And, I am shocked at what he brought up! It is a table topper that turns a table into a poker table. Hard to describe... But, I think it is a super nice item! And, I am surprised Dave is willing to part with it! Seems generous to me. Maybe that's my inspiration???

Wow were there a lot of people that wanted this CD mix. I am not surprised. Dave and I area always looking for good background music for a party or dinner and this mix is great for that!

Today I am offering a 3 CD set from Pottery Barn titled "Cocktail Trilogy". Some of the artists include: Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Jack Sheldon and Tony Bennett, etc.

This box set was given to us a handful of years ago. We have ripped the CD's and now listen to the music off of our iPods. It's great for background party music.

We sure hope this goes to someone who likes to entertain.
