2009 Goals

Everyone makes New Year resolutions - and many of them go unanswered. I, too, am making a resolution. I am going to freecycle something every day! That's right, I am going to try to get rid of at least 365 things. That sounds like a lot - but we just have too much!! And, even if I fall short of every day, I hope to get rid of many things - and meanwhile help others make use of them.

I will be writing a new blog about this adventure. Feel free to view it - and pass along the link to anyone who might enjoy hearing about the highs and lows of freeclycling.

What is Freecycle you ask? Simply an e-mail club that allows you to electronically offer items you no longer need to other club members. They come pick the item up. Now, multiply that by 365 and you've got my 2009.

What is Freecycle?

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,655 groups with 6,255,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, go to www.freecycle.org.

It is a simple concept... If you've got something you no longer want, you send out an e-mail to your group notifying it is available - and if you want something you can even ask for it! Then you arrange pick-up.
